Take Care to Prevent Bicycle -- Motor Vehicle Accidents in Washington State

Seattle is a very bicycle-friendly place. City buses have bike racks (used for over 300,000 rides each year, according to city estimates) and buses shuttle bicycles across the SR-520 floating bridge for no charge. The Seattle Department of Transportation reports 2,800 free bike racks on city sidewalks.

How to avoid becoming Washington's next hit-and-run victim

The victim of a Washington hit-and-run can thank his lucky stars he is alive. The 55-year-old pedestrian, of Seattle, suffered serious injuries when he was hit by a vehicle in White Center around 1:45 a.m.; the car drove off without stopping. According to King5 news, the injuries are not life-threatening.

The infamous bumper tap

We've all been in this situation before. You get in your car after an exhausting trip to the grocery store, check behind you and begin to back your car out of the parking stall. You move all the way back and shift your car into drive to begin moving forward when, suddenly, the car behind you backs up right into the rear bumper of your car. You get out of your car and make sure everyone is uninjured, check for damage which seems to be minor, collect the other driver's information and proceed on your way home.

What NOT to Do if You Get into a Car Accident

A while back I described what you should do in the unfortunate situation if you get into a car accident. Every once in a while, we run into people who go far and beyond what they should do, into the realm of actions you should never take when you get into a car accident. Here are a few things to remember NOT to do in the future:

Mental trauma after a car wreck is often hard to cope with

The emotional and mental health challenges are very difficult to deal with after a car crash. Sometimes, there will be post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) associated with these accidents. When this is the case, you might find that there are some unique challenges that come with this.

What to Do if you Get into a Car Accident

Car collisions happen. That's why they call them accidents. We don't mean to or want to hit other vehicles (or be hit for that matter), but that's life and we have to deal with it accordingly. If you have ever been in a car accident, you know how stressful it can be. You or the other person may be injured or your car may have been totaled. So if you are unlucky in the near future and get into an accident, here are a few things to remember:

Don't ignore a sore or stiff neck after a car crash

The force of impact that occurs in a car crash can have a variety of effects of the human body. Even in accidents that seem minor, there is still a chance that a person might suffer an injury. In some cases, these injuries won't be noticed right at the time of the accident so you must be vigilant in the days after the incident.

All car accidents must be taken seriously

A car accident is an event that you can't ever really prepare for. Even if you have thought about the possibility of being struck and think that you have everything figured out, there is a chance that you have missed out on some important points. One thing that you might not be able to accurately plan for is the financial impact of the accident. We understand this and want you to know that you have options to try and recover the money that you are out of because of the accident.

Compensation after a crash can help you put your life together

There isn't ever a really good time to be involved in a car crash, but around the holidays might seem like the worst time. There is a chance that you will have to take time off of work to allow your injuries to heal when you are in an automobile accident. This can pose a problem since you might be in the middle of trying to get holiday gifts together.
